Professional Background
John has developed posture therapy & strength programs for over 20 years and is the founder of PTX Therapy. After working in numerous clinical settings he spent over a decade developing the Patented Postural Therapy delivery system, US Patent No. 8,715,176. As its inventor, the proprietary technology and trade-secrets of this Virtual Therapy intelligence system originated from John’s study and experience as an athlete and clinician working with thousands of clients. Throughout his life, John has held a tremendous passion for athletics and sports related activities, only surpassed by his career in orthopedic rehabilitation — linking posture to pain and giving people hope to heal. John’s unique approach as a therapist has proven equally applicable to patients with chronic pain conditions, and athletes looking for measurable functional performance improvement. He has personally worked with over 100 NFL players, PGA and LPGA Tour Pros, and NBA players (including many Hall of Famers from each those professional leagues). John has helped numerous High School teams (in TX and CA) as football strength and speed coach, was Head Rehab Specialist and Director of Fitness Trainers at the world-renowned Pebble Beach Company, Senior Therapist and Director of Seminars & Education for The Egoscue Method in San Diego, California, and Senior Postural Therapist at the Peak Wellness Center in Greenwich Connecticut. John is currently a distinguished Faculty member and Advisor of the International Medical Wellness Association.
John’s initial idea of virtual therapy, was, well, ahead of its time in 1999 — many years before the first iPhone. He tested some early expert system versions for a couple of years, with success. Beginning in 2001 he got serious: John would leave his clinic in Newport Beach, and take hundreds of patient files each time, to the mountains or beaches of southern California. There he would spend days just writing therapy protocols based on patient profiles. Those work-getaways—to focus only on the rehab process of postural therapy’s unique scientific sequencing—turned into countless hours, and many months, then many years, writing algorithms and the foundations and vision for what is now PTX.
During this time, John had a staff of trainers, therapists, and code-writers at his clinic in Newport. He was also working with his team on an early tele-rehab / tele-therapy program, where patients from all over the country would call in, for ½ hour therap
In 2014 John sold his direct-pay clinic and sports-training center of almost 14yrs, in pursuit of solely the remote-therapy business. He moved his family to the Hill Country of Texas (between Austin and San Antonio) that same year, and spent several additional years writing more algorithms and therapy protocols, advancing the system towards machine learning, then A.I. (artificial intelligence). He moved into new iterations of the backend therapy-engine that was proven successful, including going head-to-head in third-party studies against licensed physical therapy clinics; John’s digital therapy system proved to be statistically superior for symptom mitigation in many categories and body regions. John worked for years with fellow therapist Carol Gamboa who had already begun growing a network of like-minded Postural Therapists around the world, and they together branded the PTX name. John also spent several of these years working with patients, physicians and medical groups, testing the new powerful versions of the system—further proving its success—while he capitalized the company, sold into different markets, and assembled a very talented PTX team of therapy and technology scientists.
THE RESULT: 20 years in the making, today the PTX Therapy system is far superior to anything else on the market, because it is rooted in two-decades of clinical experience, testing, and success of countless healed patients!
